Eva Louise Wright 12th November 1883-March 1985

Eva Louise b. 1883

Apparently the Osbornes lived in London and were quite well off. Louise married a Mr Osborne and lived at Low Fell they apparently had a son called Peter? When in fact he was called William, they also had two daughters Rose and Lillian. I’ve found an Eva Wright marriage registered in Chester-Le-St Oct-Nov-Dec 1910. But in 1911 (last quarter again) Eva L Wright has registered a marriage in GATESHEAD.

and on the same page 1726 same volume William B Osborne. Surely that is the couple we are looking for.

According to Maud Wright when Charles Wright died Auntie Eva and Uncle Bill wanted to adopt Maud to take some of the burden away from Mary Elizabeth Wright Nee Davison but Maud did not want to go. She could have led a comfortable life in London as apparently Bill Osborne was something of a noise in the London Theatre circuit. Certainly Herbert Orlando settled in London for a time and would surely have been in regular contact with his sister.

Louie was the oldest living of the siblings , living to 101 years and 5 months. Her notable death was in the local newspaper. It says she was a dress maker , which indeed she was, she also made some recordings for metro radio about her life . She used to take Arthur out for a drink every other month , she was particularly fond of scotch. Her husband William Bernard passed away in 1951 aged 75 .
They had three children

Rose Eileen Osborne 1912-1974

Rose was the first child of Eva and William, born on the 8th March . We don’t know a lot about her other than she married a Mitchell and died in barrow in Furness in October 1974 , aged 62 , eleven years before the death of her mother.

Lillian Osborne 1913-2000

Lillian was born in July 1913 , Peter remembered that she used to come to York Road to visit Artie but she really came because she had the hots for Herbert. Her full cousin. Peter says she never married but she must have done because her surname changed to Anderson. She lived with Louie as it’s mentioned in the newspaper article. Peter said she was 87 when she died and he was correct, she died in the year 2000 , aged 87 .

William Bernard Osborne 1916-1992

William Osborne was fondly known as Willie , was apparently a lecturer. He and his wife had a big house in Gateshead, they asked to adopt grandad Peter but Sarah would not allow it . He died in 1992 aged 76.
